Congressional leaders gathered Tuesday in the Capitol Rotunda to present the Congressional Gold Medal — the highest honor Congress can bestow — to the officers of the US Capitol Police and the DC Metropolitan Police Department who defended the Capitol during the January 6, 2021, insurrection.
